Our plans for our dedicated kitchen took a major step forward this week, when The Prince Philip Trust Fund pledged £5,000 towards the project.
The New Kitchen, to be built in currently unused space in the village halls will enable our amazing cooks to produce our lunches in a modern professional purpose built kitchen, rather than having to struggle with the small cramped shared kitchen we currently use. It will also significantly reduce our set-up and pack away times, as we currently have to return the current kitchen to Neutral Multi-purpose Mode after use to enable other users of the halls to use it. This means we have to set-up and remove a lot of our equipment and lock it in storage.
Janet Crame WHVC Chair, said that she’s been dreaming of and planning this kitchen, to propel us forward for a long time, and this generous pledge is a huge step along that road.
It is hoped that work on the new kitchen can start this summer, and be open by Christmas.
